Advancing tools & techniques for environmental remedial measures
This session invites contributions that improve our quantitative understanding of the sources and pathways, mass fluxes, fate and transport, and the mitigation of pollutants and pathogens in the soil-groundwater-river continuum. Topics to be covered:
1. Novel sampling and monitoring concepts and devices.
2. New analytical methods, new detection methods for DNA, pathogens, pollutants, non-target screening.

3. Experimental studies to quantify remediation technologies.
4. Modeling approaches (including hydrology and sediment transport) to simulate pollutants transport and fate at several spatial and temporal scales.
5. Novel monitoring approaches such as non-target screening as tools for improving process understanding and source identification such as industries.
6. Biogeochemical interactions and impact on micropollutant behavior.
7. Setup of mitigation measures and evaluate their effectiveness.
